We should not forget that responsibility and conscience go hand in hand with free will. Responsibility and conscience direct us not to deviate from the path. To remain humble. We thus realize that nothing is taken for granted, that everything has a purpose.
The responsible self versus the seductive ego. Our fulfillment is not conditioned by the self-realization of our own desires and needs. Fulfillment comes only through the harmony of the entire cosmos. With a touch of the transcendent. The relationship between the micro and the macro cosmic exists. It is only possible on an extremely subtle level. The two worlds are fatefully linked.
Community is a given for the purpose of safety, satisfaction and belonging. Not only to have a good time and to satisfy our own desires and pleasures, but above all so that we do not harm, but to preserve and create with our being. That we are committed and trusting. That we are not satisfied only with the here and now. That we contribute and share. That we are a part and at the same time a whole. That we are responsible.
For our ancestors, the community was always sacred and a treasure. Several generations lived together in an extended community. Great-grandmother and great-grandfather, grandfather and grandmother, mother and father and children. They cared about each other. They helped each other. Family members could rely on each other in good times and bad. They all believed that at the beginning and at the end there is Someone who knows about their purpose and mission, even if they themselves do not know why. They lived in commitment and responsibility to their fellow man.
In our house, we are deeply aware of and respect this historical tradition of our ancestors and their community. We try to preserve the tradition as best we can. Not just because of tradition and gratitude to our ancestors, but because of the Truth. Because this is the right way. Over the years, a wonderful community has formed. A community bound by a commitment to responsible living.
