IKC – Institute for Control and Certification UM is a certification body whose activity is focused on the process of certification of agricultural products and foodstuffs with the aim of strengthening consumer confidence in agricultural products or foods. Its activities are constantly supplemented with certification procedures for new quality schemes and we adapt to developments and trends in agriculture, food and related industries.

Autonomy

IKC operates as an autonomous and non-profit organization.

Competence
They are the bearer of public authority to carry out the tasks of the organization for the control and certification of national and European certification schemes, issued by the competent ministry – the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Food of the Republic of Slovenia.
The organization and operation of the institute ensures independence, impartiality and competence.

Responsibility and reliability
The IKC – Institute for Control and Certification UM, during the professional certification process, determines the compliance of the production, processing, distribution, marketing of agricultural products and foodstuffs as well as other products and activities with the applicable regulations for the selected certification scheme.
Assessment methods are based on document review and on-site inspections. Analyzes of samples, testing or evaluation of products serve as additional tools in confirming the conformity of certified agricultural products or foodstuffs and other products.
