The film Slovenia Green follows the cycling route Slovenia Green Gourmet Route, which was created in 2021 in cooperation with the Slovenian Tourist Organization and the Slovenia Green Consortium, and the destinations it leads through.
The film outlines a journey along the Slovenia Green Gourmet Route, which takes the cyclist among sustainable providers in Slovenia from Ljubljana to Posočje, Goriška Brda, Vipava Valley and Karst and back through the capital to Sevnica, Podčetrtek, Ptuj and Maribor. It takes place exclusively among destinations with the Slovenia Green Destination mark – a mark that distinguishes destinations that pay special attention to responsible tourism development and sufficiently meet the criteria of the international Green Destinations standard. In Slovenia, 58 destinations, 99 accommodation providers, 40 restaurants, 6 sights, 8 tourist agencies and 1 natural bathing area bear the mark.
In 2023, the film Slovenia Green received five awards.

In addition to two awards at the Terres Travel Festival (Spain) for the best sustainability promotion film and the best short film, the documentary received a gold award at the 5th World’s Tourism Film Festival in Japan and a silver award at the US International Awards in the tourism documentary category. At the Zagreb Tourfilm Festival, the film was awarded in the category of documentary films, where it won 1st place for the portrayal of sustainability.
